This is just one of the many reasons why I don’t recommend the eGo electronic cigarette.
An eGo Electronic Cigarette Started a Car on Fire!
I can’t make this up, which is why I linked to the original story posted online in the above heading.
This happened recently in Arizona, and I’ve summarized the story below in my own words.
JennieBurton and her husband, Lee, were in the hospital in Peoria, Arizona. They left their e-cigarette charging in the car charger, thinking they would come back and have a fully charged e-cigarette battery upon completing their appointment.
However, a news flash came across the loud speaker demanding that the couple return to their vehicle at once!
According to Burton, about “two to three firetrucks and about 20 guys” were at the scene of the car, which had it’s hood up and was charred from the fire. The video posted below shows the scene.

I’m not one to hate or demand a boycott a certain brand as clearly, everyone has their own opinions, likes, and dislikes, and that’s what makes the world interesting. If we all liked the same products and shared the same reviews, what a boring world we’d live in.
However, I don’t like these eGo e-cigarettes for many reasons….
1. I find them very hideous looking. If we are trying to fit in and look like we are smoking cigarettes, and not draw attention to the fact we are smoking an electronic cigarette, then why would we vape on a big, bulky bomb of a battery like the eGo?
2. It uses an atomizer. I’ve never been a fan of exposed atomizers, it just makes it feel like a fire could go off at any time, and in this case, it apparently did.
3. It feels too “modified” for my taste. Almost like someone made it at home. Not saying it’s poor quality, but it’s not in the same league as the main stream, retail-available brands like V2Cigs and Bull Smoke.

This doesn’t resemble a cigarette – which is one of the reasons I’m not a fan of the EGo.
